About the Opportunity

As a backend engineer at Moat, you would be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend systems that power all of the various methods of data delivery and management that are supplied to both internal and external clients.

You would be an integral part of the team that owns the backend systems as well as the monitoring and alerting tools that keep them running smoothly. These systems manage huge datasets that grow daily as they aggregate billions of events delivered by the Data Pipeline team.

You will strike a balance between writing code, deploying and maintaining services, making architecture decisions, mentoring and supporting other team members and reviewing their work.

You will be responsible for delivering on engineering goals, ensuring reliability and quality in the products you release, and working cross-functionally with other engineering and product teams.

About You

  • 6+ years software development experience
  • Python or Golang (aka Go) experience
  • AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or similar cloud experience
  • Linux or Unix environment experience
  • Proven track record of accomplishing technical goals that provide a visible impact on the product / business

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
