Your marketing prowess will spread awareness for our programming so that we can continue to impact the lives of youth across the nation.

Your Role:

As Sprouts’ Marketing Manager, you will use WordPress to edit and improve Sprouts’ website and create MailChimp emails to promote classes and draft quarterly updates for our community. You will collaborate with team members to highlight our sponsors, donors, and celebrity chefs through Google ads, Facebook ads, and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and website blogs. You will create flyers for special events and new class series, including design and wording. You will also work with the executive director to help reposition our 2-year marketing plan.

Sample Tasks:

  • Construct email marketing templates and schedule/send campaigns with MailChimp
  • Generate, edit, publish and share content on the website using WordPress
  • Creating unique content for social media to promote blog and engagement
  • Conduct email or phone interviews with chefs and sponsors and write blogs for the website
  • Expanding Sprouts’ list of parent forums and online groups
  • Expanding Sprouts’ PR list
  • Giving guidance to Sprouts’ volunteer photographers
  • Maintaining Sprouts’ photography files
  • Assist with creating our chef and sponsor highlights
  • Creating unique content for social media to promote blog and engagement
  • Help brand and promote Sprouts’ all-new Virtual Dinner Series.
    • Identifying and soliciting name-brand chefs for participation in our dinner series
    • Identifying Parent Groups and Facebook demographics to advertise classes

Your Team:

As Marketing Manager, you will report directly to the Sprouts’ Executive Director. You will work closely with Sprouts’ team, from overseeing marketing interns to working with our Bay Area and NYC team.

Hours, Location, Compensation:

  • Work hours: 20-30 hours per week, Potential Full-time work the month of June
  • Sprouts General Work Hours: Monday through Friday 9 to 5 PT
  • Start date: June 1st
  • End date: August 15th. Based on performance, strong potential to join the year-round team come September
  • Location: Virtual, remote work
  • Compensation: $20-$25 hr, depending on location

Company Description:

Sprouts is a nonprofit that teaches youth from all socioeconomic backgrounds what REAL food is all about. We do this through hands-on cooking with REAL chefs from mission-based restaurants in New York City, San Jose, Paris, and the San Francisco Bay Areas! With the support of Jamie Oliver and the endorsement of Alice Waters on our advisory board, we fulfill our mission through three main programs:

  • Chef-In-Training Internships for underserved young adults that want to change their lives around through a culinary career
  • Chef-In-Training Fundraiser Classes and Camps on weekends and school breaks for diverse Bay Area youth
  • Classes for children with special needs

Our Team: Executive Director and Founder, Culinary Programming Director, Accounting team, legal team, Marketing Manager, Office Manager/ HR, Chef-In-Training Manager, CIT NYC Ambassador, Marketing Interns, Culinary Instructors, Board of Directors, Advisory Members, community volunteers and ambassadors, and professional chef partners.
