We are looking for a talented designer to ensure that our products display a clean, modern, and usable design that stands out in a sea of bland business software.
As a UI designer at VGS, you will be driving the design direction for cross-functional teams of front-end developers, back-end engineers, product designers, and product managers. The design process is collaborative but flexible; we believe in using the best tools to complete a task. We do use several modern coding frameworks (Sass, React, etc.) to develop our front-end code, but we are always open to innovative new tools. The important thing is that you craft great designs that our users love.
Your day may include:
Engaging in a collaborative design process with product managers, engineers, and product and brand designers.
Sketching and mocking a new feature using modern design tools like Figma and Axure RP.
Driving the development of our design system, patterns, and style guides.
Building interactive prototypes and working with product designers to integrate them into the UX research process.
Qualifications and experience we are looking for:
An understanding of modern web design principles.
The capability to render beautiful visuals using modern design tools like Figma.
3-5 years of experience building designs that users love.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Experience with modern accessibility standards and responsive.
Experience designing and developing a design system.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
Strong writing skills and the ability to express design guidelines clearly in print.
Proficiency with HTML 5, CSS 3, and Sass.
Experience with JavaScript libraries, including React, is a plus, but not required.
